Kumemai dance by TAKENOUCHI Kyuichi 19乚20th c. colored wood height 26.8cm Kumemai is an ancient court dance where the dancer wears a black crown and red garment, a gold sword and black shoes. This is the same shape of the piece Takenouchi created for the ceremony of the Emperor's enthronement in 1915, and is probably one of his last works. |
